On 9 April 2025, Freshfel Europe & PROFEL will hold the Freshfel Europe – PROFEL Conference 2025, where the entire fruit and vegetables sector will meet in Brussels to highlight the important contribution fruit and vegetables make towards healthy and sustainable diets.  Under the title “The Power of Fruit and Vegetables – boosting health and sustainability”, the event will identify the answers the sector holds to societal challenges, and discuss the political support needed to secure sustainable fruit and vegetable production.

We will welcome distinguished experts from academia, the EU institutions, stakeholders and sector representatives as speakers and panelists in each of the three sessions:

• Health and Consumption: The cost of inaction.
• Production challenges in times of climate change
• Sustainability and Competitiveness.

The event will provide an excellent forum to make new contacts and renew existing connections. Kicking off with a welcome cocktail on the 8 April, the conference on the 9th will provide ample opportunity for informal discussions and networking during the coffee breaks and lunch.

The event will also feature the launch of the FreshProducePEFCR, the Product Environmental Footprint Category Rules for the fresh produce sector that have been developed as part of Freshfel’s Environmental Footprint Initiative. The objective of the Initiative, which is aligned with the Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) methodology as recommended by the EU, is to enhance the sector’s sustainability and maintain its competitiveness.

16.00 – launch of FreshProducePEFCR followed by a short reception.
