COVID-19 Impact Assessment

On 6 May 2020 Freshfel Europe released its COVID-19 Impact Assessment for the European fresh fruit and vegetable sector. The 88-page Impact Assessment outlines the implications of the COVID-19 pandemic for the European fresh fruit and vegetable sector, including recommendations for policy-makers.

In compiling this report, Freshfel Europe has endeavoured to accurately portray the effect the pandemic has had on the sector over the last few months and what implications this may have in the short, medium and long-term for the supply of fresh produce to consumers. Specifically, the Impact Assessment analyses the effects on each stage of the supply chain (production, wholesale, intra-EU trade, EU exports, imports into the EU and retail) until the beginning of May 2020.
